What iPod you are using
If the iPod you have is hackable*
What firmware version it is
Hacking an iPod might not work the first time

A fast way to find out what generation your iPod video is (Either a 5th or a 5.5 generation iPod) follow these steps:

Hold the menu button until you go back to the iPod’s main screen
Select the music option
Scroll down to the bottom

If you have the Search > option, you have a 5.5G iPod video if not you own a 5G
